This is definitely not something everyone has from a Formula 1 engine! We have for sale an AVS (air valve spring) assembly and inlet valve from the Cosworth ED F1 engine. AVS is also sometime known PVRS (pneumatic valve return spring) and we wrote a blog about how these systems work recently.
The Cosworth ED engine was raced in Formula 1 between 1995 and 1997 and was used by a number of teams including Tyrrell, Simtek and Pacific.
The AVS assembly is contained within an aluminium body, which contains the removeable stem seal carrier. The valve has two cotters that hold it into the reciprocating seal carrier, which then runs up and down inside the bore in the body. The assembly includes unused an unused stem seal and reciprocating seal.
