Description
Without doubt, the Cosworth DFV engine is still the most successful engine in Formula 1 history – 155 wins, 12 drivers championships and 10 constructors titles. If the Cosworth DFV engine is the iconic powerplant from Formula 1, then this DFV front cover has to be the iconic part from that engine. This triangular shape of this cover was conceived by legendary engine designer Keith Duckworth to fully enclose the auxiliary drive pulleys, and it gives the DFV its instantly identifiable shape.
This particular DFV front cover was machined by Cosworth in 2019, but was never finish-machined to match the block and sump that it was intended for. We are pleased to offer this cover for sale as a unique display item. It could be converted to a clock, or could be mounted to one of our Cosworth DFV display blocks, or could just be simply hung on a wall as it is.
